Crabbies 1837 Gin

A strong balance of sweet and spice. The unusual addition of sea salt, gives the gin a more rounded finish.

Aroma: Refined juniper notes with orange peel and hints of spice.

Taste: Piney juniper with a deep, zesty orange marmalade and dry spice.

Finish: Smooth and moreish. Perfect in a Gin and Tonic, cocktails or casually sipped on ice.

The original Crabbie Gin recipes were found in the archive and date back to 1837.

Rediscovered in 2018, Crabbie Gin is once again being produced in Edinburgh in the same artisanal way.

The  four initial launches are all recreated from different recipes found in the archive and include some unusual botanicals which prove that innovation in making Gin is something that isn’t as recent a phenomenon as many would believe.

Botanicals: Juniper, Coriander, Angelica, Orris, Liquorice Root, Cassia Bark, Celery Seeds, Grains of Paradise, Orange Peel, Sea Salt.
