Cotes Du Rhone Rouge Font Sante 2017
Domaine Font Sante
An excellent example of good hearty French wine from the Rhone Valley. Highly ‘gluggable’ – it looks purple, it tastes purple – it is a solid PURPLE! and exceptional wine – very French and, you don’t get bored with it half way down the bottle.
Pierre Rougon is a demanding, respectful and creative winegrower. It has taken over the beautiful family estate of 52 hectares located on the area of the appellation Beaumes of Venice.
His father, a daring winegrower and Emeritus, has worked all his life both for the family domain and for the development of the appellation. He is also the man who has been able to give his letters of nobility to the Beaumes cooperative.
The vineyard is located on terraced terraces between 150 m and 330 m altitude in the exceptional setting of the laces of Montmirail. It produces with respect of large grapes. These plots are hard to work with, but it doesn’t matter. Yields are naturally low.
What matters above all is the search for optimum expression.
